Youth for Justice Resources

What is Law-Related Education (LRE)?—Law-related education, or LRE, is at the heart of the Youth for Justice initiative. Find out more about the history of this educational movement, its promise for delinquency prevention, essentials of LRE, and the wide variety of LRE programs offered throughout the nation.

YFJ Resources—Through the Youth for Justice initiative, the Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention (OJJDP) has supported development of numerous resources intended to promote LRE, help organizations develop and enhance LRE programs, and offer professional development opportunities for educators, curriculum specialists, and others. Browse through these YFJ and other related resources for ideas on how you can plan, support, and strengthen your LRE programs.

Program Directories—The OJJDP and many of the Youth for Justice partners maintain online directories of providers, programs, and project coordinators for law-related education, juvenile justice, and delinquency prevention. You can also Subscribe to TeachLRE, an e-newsletter for teachers interested in LRE resources on-line. TeachLRE is open to anyone interested in law-related education, and is designed as a service to which State LRE Centers can subscribe teachers in their networks. Subscribers will receive YFJ Net News and other informational resources which are regularly developed and shared by the national LRE community. Content will be coordinated by the Constitutional Rights Foundation in partnership with the other Youth for Justice Grantees. To subscribe, simply click on the link above.
